MSCA Ambassador event for high-school students from Uzbekistan

Lund University hosted an MSCA Ambassador event for high-school students from Uzbekistan on December 6-7, 2024.

19 students from the Academic lyceum of University of World Economy and Diplomacy from Tashkent, Uzbekistan visited Lund University. 19 students (12 boys and 7 girls), accompanied by their four teachers, visited the department of Sociology of Law at Lund University. During their visit, Marie Skłodowska-Curie Action (MSCA) fellows – Dr Rustamjon Urinboyev and Dr Sherzod Eraliev from Lund University talked about their research with the students. Considered as MSCA Ambassadors – fellows participating in MSCA projects are encouraged to promote science and research by visiting schools and universities or participate in conferences or events targeting the large public. The purpose of the MSCA Ambassador events is to act as a role model to inspire the young generation to become a scientists and researchers.

During the visit, the presentations by the MSCA Ambassadors helped to spread the outcomes of their research and raise scientific awareness in the fields of migration, corruption, Central Asian studies, business and law. The MSCA Ambassadors Dr Urinboyev and Dr Eraliev also talked to students about the ongoing MSCA SE research and training projects at the department, such as the completed “Central Asian Law: legal cultures and business environments in Central Asia”, and the other two ongoing projects - “MOCCA: Multi-Level orders of corruption in Central Asia” and “MARS: Non-Western migration regimes in a Global Perspective”. 

The MSCA Ambassador event demonstrated the MARS project’s dedication to engaging young talent and fostering international collaboration through education and research. This event provided high school students with a unique opportunity to experience life at a leading European university while encouraging them to pursue their academic aspirations.
